Reclaim Women's Bodies
Protesters & Co

Nia Hefe Filiogianni
Nia joined the collective after working as a visual artist in Athens, Greece, with an interest in femininity and design. Her research led to discoveries of many troubling historic, and recent events, including female genital mutilation practices, violence against women and incidents of women used as laboratory animals. She translated her understanding of, and responses to the complex horrific history of women's bodies into illustrations, which as well as documenting particular moments, considered the stereotypes and aesthetics associated with women's bodies and experience. These were later translated into designs for silk scarves, which she hopes will function as constructive and informative adornments.
